Celebrate with Butterflies!

A curiosity-filled, educational birthday experience where children connect with real butterflies, real plants, and real nature.

Designed for children ages 3 and up.| 90-minute guided experience. | Private parties for up to 15 children.

What Your Child Will Experience

During this 90-minute guided experience, children explore hands-on learning stations that encourage curiosity, discovery, and a love for nature.

Activities may include:

  • Observing real butterfly eggs using magnification

  • Gentle caterpillar handling with gloves

  • Viewing chrysalises and preserved butterflies

  • Exploring real nectar and host plants

  • Learning butterfly and caterpillar anatomy

  • Asking questions and engaging in open conversation

  • Participating in guided discovery activities such as a nature scavenger hunt

If a butterfly naturally emerges on the day of your event, a release may be possible. This is never guaranteed and depends on timing and nature.

Two short 2–5 minute breaks are built in to support attention spans and allow time for snacks, cake, and birthday moments.

    Available time slots:

    • 10:00 AM (Saturday and Sunday)

    • 2:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)

    • 6:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)

    Have a birthday party during the week, reach out and we can try to accommodate.

    Our experiences are designed for children ages 3 and up and offer a calm, hands-on nature experience centered around real butterfly life stages and discovery.

  • $325 for a 90-minute birthday party (up to 15 children)

    We are a mobile experience and come to you throughout the greater Houston area.


    Travel fees may apply for extended distances.

    Additional children may be accommodated with advance notice.

  • Parties can be hosted indoors or outdoors.

    For outdoor events, a pop-up tent is provided to create a shaded learning space.

    Indoor setups work great as well.

    This experience works well in backyards, homes, community spaces, local parks, and open indoor rooms. We simply need enough space for 1 table and room for children to gather comfortably on floor surface.

  • Families may enhance their party with one optional activity.
    Each add-on is $30 and extends the experience by approximately 20–30 minutes.

    To keep the experience meaningful and manageable, we limit parties to one add-on.

    While children enjoy the add-on activity, the observation table remains open for continued exploration, and parents are welcome to observe.

    Booking Angelica from Biology and Butterflies was an excellent decision for my three year old's birthday. She arrived to the park to set up before we had even left the house! Her tent, cages, and materials were in place when the first family surprised us by arriving 30 minutes early. Angelica is amazing with kids. She learned their names the first time she heard them and she gained rapport with each child very quickly. This helped her host an engaging afternoon of butterfly learning. The activities she chose were fun and she was really good at teaching the kids information about the different kinds of butterflies. My mother, a Master Gardener, said she loved the information and presentation as much as the three year olds! We were very excited to see the reactions of the children. Every single one was enthralled by holding the caterpillars, seeing the different kinds of chrysalises, and seeing the butterflies that we released. She was very interactive such as asking each child questions and also letting them ask questions and give their opinions. I could not have asked for a better educator and presentation. Angelica is easy to work with and was even able to accommodate our last minute change in party time due to the rain forecast. We thought the price was reasonable and it gave the kids a memorable experience for our daughter's birthday. I would wholeheartedly recommend her!

    Choosing Biology and Butterflies for my daughters’ birthday party was one of the best decisions we made. Angelica arrived well in advance to set everything up and ensure everything was ready before guests arrived.

    She started the program right on time, and immediately all the kids were fully engaged in what she was presenting. Angelica is incredibly patient and kind, with a wonderful ability to connect with children of all ages. Even the parents and grandparents at the party found the information she shared to be fascinating!

    She also provided educational materials for us to share with the families, including information on which plants attract different butterfly species in the Houston area.

    We can’t wait to see her again!
